On the Costa Blanca, you can find a market every day of the week. These markets offer a wide variety of products, including clothing, footwear, household items, food, and, of course, tourist goods. Below, we highlight some of our favorite markets on the Costa Blanca. If you prefer shopping in a mall, check out our recommendations for shopping on the Costa Blanca.
The largest market in the area is held on Fridays in Torrevieja, next to the Aquópolis water park. The Torrevieja Friday market is one of the largest small trading centers in the Vega Baja region. The market takes place in Parque Antonio Soria, which covers an area of 82,000 square meters and can host up to 700 stalls. The most popular products are food, clothing, and footwear, but you can also find many other items at great prices. The Torrevieja market has numerous facilities, such as free parking, public restrooms, a taxi stand, a bus service every 20 minutes, and police surveillance.
Welcome to El Zoco Market! Bored on Sundays? Sundays at El Zoco Market are fantastic! The El Zoco Market invites you to enjoy a wide variety of national and international products, as well as local crafts. The El Zoco market has been a staple in the area for 20 years. Every Sunday, around 300 vendors set up their stalls to offer their products and services to market visitors. Here you'll find a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, clothing, furniture, footwear, tableware, gifts, books, and much more.
Probably one of the best markets in the area and certainly one of our favorites. Every Sunday, the Lemon Tree Market is set up in the countryside of Guardamar, next to the El Raso urbanization. It is a large market where many fruits and vegetables, clothing, jewelry, and typical tourist items are sold. There is also a large food area where you can sit on a terrace to enjoy a refreshing drink or a delicious coffee with churros while you browse the market. This market is held every Sunday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
In Torrevieja, on Paseo de la Libertad, you'll find the Hippie Market every night. In cozy wooden huts, vendors offer their products. Here you'll find stalls with bags, clothing, jewelry, and more. The market is open every night from 8:00 PM to approximately midnight. In addition to the market, you'll find a fair for children, and you can walk along the promenade where you can enjoy a meal or drink with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean.
On Saturday mornings, you can visit the weekly market in Playa Flamenca. This market is located on Calle Nicolás de Bussi and starts at the intersection of Calle Salvador Dalí and Calle Pintor Ribera, next to The Celtic Isle pub. Here you'll find a wide range of products, from clothing, shoes, bags, and leather goods to bedding, towels, and other household items. Many stalls also offer food such as fruits and vegetables, ham, and delicious roast meat.
During the summer months, every night in Guardamar del Segura, you'll find a market in the beautiful Parque Reina Sofía. Here, the usual tourist items are offered, but many handmade products are also sold. Afterward, you can take a stroll through the beautiful Reina Sofía park, full of birds like ducks, geese, swans, and peacocks, or play a game of petanque with the locals. There is also a playground for children and a fair during the summer months. Then, you can walk towards the promenade to enjoy an ice cream and have a lovely evening.
